Drivers in Saint John are being reminded to move their vehicles as the seasonal alternate-side parking changeover takes effect tonight. This routine change helps ensure city crews can efficiently complete street cleaning and maintenance.
However, the City of Saint John has announced that due to ongoing construction projects, the standard alternate-side parking rules will be temporarily suspended in several specific areas. Residents parking on these streets should adhere to the special instructions to avoid being ticketed or towed.

According to an official notice from the City, the following streets have modified parking rules:
- Cliff Street: Effective January 1, 2024, on-street parking is only permitted on the even-numbered side of the street.
 - Charlotte Street (between St. James Street and Ross Street): Effective June 25, 2025, on-street parking will only be permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street.
 - St. James Street (between Charlotte Street and Sydney Street): Effective June 25, 2025, on-street parking will only be permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street.
 - Sydney Street (between St. James Street and Britain Street): Effective June 25, 2025, on-street parking will only be permitted on the even-numbered side of the street.

For all other areas where alternate-side parking is enforced, drivers should ensure their vehicles are parked on the correct side of the street. For complete details and a map of the affected areas, residents are encouraged to visit the City of Saint John’s official page on alternate-side restrictions.
