A new five story hotel is on the table for Saint John’s east side but it needs a zoning change to move forward. The City of Saint John recently announced a proposed zoning amendment for a portion of land at 615 and 631 Loch Lomond Road.

The developer wants to rezone approximately 9413 square meters of land. Currently the city designates this parcel as a Mid Rise Residential zone. The proposed amendment changes this designation to a Commercial Business Park zone.

If approved the zoning change clears the way for the construction of a five story hotel. The project includes associated parking areas and establishes access directly from Loch Lomond Road.
