If you travel along Route 124 in Norton, you know it is usually a quiet stretch of road. Last Friday, it became the scene of an intense police chase involving drones, dogs and three suspects from Saint John.

Suspicious Activity Leads to Chase

RCMP officers responded to a report of people looking through cars at a business on Route 124 around 11:06 a.m. on Friday. When police arrived, they spotted three individuals who immediately fled into a nearby wooded area.

The suspects left several stolen items behind. Officers recovered these items at the scene.

Drones and Dogs Track Suspects

Police deployed dogs and drones to search the woods. This technology helped them find and arrest 40-year-old Caileigh Shea of Saint John. During the search, officers also located and arrested a 46-year-old Saint John man who suffered minor injuries.

Police later found the third suspect, a 45-year-old Saint John man, on Route 1 and took him into custody.

Charges and Court Dates

Shea appeared in court on Monday. She faces two counts of break and enter and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The court released her on bail and placed her under house arrest.

The 45-year-old man will appear in court on Thursday. The 46-year-old man has a court date scheduled for August 6.
