Our Story: A New Home, A New Idea
Saint John Daily was founded by us, Johnny Baskin and Fernanda Fernandes, a husband-and-wife duo who moved to Saint John seeking a new pace of life. Johnny came from the hustle of Toronto, and Fernanda from the vibrant city of Recife, Brazil. We were immediately captivated by Saint John’s charm, history, and the warmth of its people.
As we settled in, we found ourselves constantly searching for what was happening around the city. We were looking for a single, easy-to-use resource that listed everything from local events and festivals to community gatherings. When we couldn’t find one, we saw an opportunity. We decided to build it ourselves.
Our goal was simple: create a central hub where residents and visitors alike could easily discover all the amazing things Saint John has to offer

Johnny Baskin
With over a decade of experience in digital marketing and website development, Johnny’s mission is to make information accessible. He has spent his career helping businesses get found online, and he wanted to use that knowledge to build a powerful, user-friendly resource for his new community. He is the technical mind behind the site, ensuring it’s fast, reliable, and easy for everyone to navigate.
Fernanda Fernandes
Fernanda brings years of experience in sales and social media content creation. With a natural talent for crafting engaging content that is easy to digest, she is passionate about telling the stories of Saint John. She leads our content and social media, ensuring that everything we share is relevant, exciting, and helps connect people with their city.
