A CN train derailed near the Courtney Bay Causeway in Saint John on Monday morning. If you travel near the end of Elliott Row, you will see two locomotives off the tracks and leaning on their left side.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada confirmed the incident happened around 8:30 am.

Safety and Environmental Impact
Officials report no injuries. Thomas Bateman is the public affairs manager with CN and provided an update on the situation.
“Preliminary reports indicate that two locomotives derailed upright,” Bateman said.
A small amount of engine oil leaked from one of the locomotives.
“The leak was contained to railway property and is being recovered,” Bateman added. “There is no impact to public safety. Work on site is expected to proceed into Tuesday.”
He also noted that crews resolved traffic issues quickly. “The crossings that were initially blocked have been cleared,” Bateman said.

Ongoing Investigation
“We are gathering information, monitoring, and assessing this occurrence,” the Transportation Safety Board said in a statement.
CN is investigating the exact cause of the derailment and will provide more information as it becomes available. Early reports incorrectly linked the track to a local company, but JD Irving confirmed they do not own this specific railway section.
