If you park on the street in the South/Central Peninsula, you need to move your vehicle tonight. The City of Saint John has declared a temporary overnight parking ban to allow for snow removal operations.

Ban Details: Time and Location
The parking ban is in effect from 11 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, through to 7 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. During this time, no on-street parking is permitted anywhere in the South/Central Peninsula area.
Any vehicles left on the street after 11 p.m. will be ticketed. According to the official city notice, vehicles may also be towed at the owner’s risk and expense.
Where to Park Your Vehicle
To help residents, the city has opened three designated parking lots for free overnight use, starting at 6 p.m. tonight. You must move your vehicle from these lots by 7 a.m. on weekdays or by noon on weekends and holidays to avoid being towed.
Free Off-Street Parking Locations:
- Peters Street
- Sydney Street (at the Service New Brunswick lot)
- Vulcan Street
Additionally, the Peel Plaza Parking Garage is offering a special flat rate of $5.00 for overnight parking. This rate is valid only for vehicles entering after 6 p.m. and leaving before 8 a.m. the next morning. Regular rates will apply outside of these hours.
