The City of Saint John enforces its alternate side parking changeover starting tonight. You need to switch the side of the street you park on to comply with the seasonal regulations.
Ongoing city construction projects disrupt the standard rules in several areas. The City suspended alternate parking rules for four specific zones. You must follow these long term construction restrictions instead:
Cliff Street
Effective January 1, 2024, parking is exclusively allowed on the even numbered side of the street.
Charlotte Street
Effective June 25, 2025, between St. James Street and Ross Street, you can only park your vehicle on the odd numbered side.
St. James Street
Effective June 25, 2025, between Charlotte Street and Sydney Street, parking is restricted to the odd numbered side.
Sydney Street
Effective January 9, 2026, between St. James Street and Brittain Street, the city prohibits parking entirely on both sides of the street.
You can find the official announcement and further details on the City of Saint John website.
