Bystander Intervenes in Armed Assault

Early on September 22 2026 the Saint John Police Force arrested a 50 year old man following an armed assault at a Fairville Blvd convenience store. A bystander stepped in to help the victim before officers arrived.

Police responded to a weapons call around 1:00 a.m. When officers got to the store they found the suspect actively assaulting an employee. Police immediately intervened and took the man into custody.

Victim Transported to Hospital

Before police arrived on the scene a bystander risked their own safety to assist the store employee.

Paramedics transported the injured employee to a local hospital. Medical staff treated and released the victim shortly after the incident.

Court Appearance Scheduled
