If you’re looking for affordable ice time for your team or group, the City of Saint John has an opportunity you won’t want to miss. The City is now offering a bi-weekly Flash Ice Sale, providing leftover ice slots at a significant discount on a first-come, first-served basis. The latest availability was announced in a press release on the City’s website.

These discounted times become available every other Wednesday, so you have a regular chance to book prime ice for practices, scrimmages, or private events without breaking the budget.

The current sale covers ice time for a two-week period. These slots are expected to fill up quickly. Here are the available times as of the latest update:

How to Book Your Spot

To take advantage of the Flash Ice Sale, you need to act fast. The booking deadline for this round is Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM. All time slots are booked by the hour and no holds are permitted.

Flash Ice Hourly Rates (plus HST):

• Youth Not-for-Profit Groups: $80.89
• Adult Not-for-Profit Groups: $141.57
• Private Events: $183.85

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can book ice time during the Flash Ice Sale?

The discounted rates are available for youth not-for-profit groups, adult not-for-profit groups, and private events. Bookings for tournaments and fundraisers do not qualify for Flash Ice pricing.

What if my group doesn’t have insurance?

Insurance coverage is mandatory for all bookings. If your group does not have its own policy, you can arrange for coverage through the City of Saint John’s designated insurance provider for a nominal cost.

How often does this sale happen?

The Flash Ice Sale is a bi-weekly event. New discounted ice times are released every other Wednesday, based on availability after the seasonal allocation process.
