If you live in the Greater Moncton area, you now rely on a brand new policing hub. The Codiac RCMP officially opened its new $59.2 million detachment at 199 Albert Street in Moncton on Tuesday.
An Overdue Upgrade
This modern facility serves the growing communities of Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview. Construction on the new building began in May 2022. While the grand opening took place recently, the detachment has been fully operational since the summer. According to a report from CTV News Atlantic, the project took eight years to complete.

Modern Policing for a Growing Region
The previous facility no longer met the needs of the region. Superintendent Benoit Jolette noted that the force outgrew the old building years ago. He described the new space as fantastic and compared the experience to enjoying a new car smell.
Commanding Officer Matco Sirotic emphasized the practical benefits of the upgrade. He stated the thoughtfully designed facility provides the space and resources necessary to support employees. Sirotic added that the building reflects an ongoing commitment to modern and responsive policing.
