The Saint John Police have a new leader, and he’s a 10-year-old with a passion for helping others and stopping pucks. Jesse Fallon, a goalie for the Lancaster Raptors, is the winner of the 2026 Chief for a Day contest.
According to a media release from the Saint John Police, Jesse has dreamed of being a police officer since he was four years old. His dedication to community service is already clear. He helps his mom at the special care home where she works with the elderly and even collects bottles to help pay for his hockey equipment.
A Chief with Hockey Tips
Jesse’s win was announced by Chief Robert M. Bruce, who is looking forward to the temporary leadership change. The Chief also hopes to gain some valuable insights from the young goalie.
“We very much look forward to having Jesse as our Chief for a Day,” Chief Bruce said. “We are hoping he will give us some hockey tips while he spends the day with us.”
The Saint John Police will welcome Chief Fallon to their headquarters at Peel Plaza next month, where he will officially take on his duties for the day. The department also extended its thanks to all the young people who participated in this year’s contest.
