again a “call” for an west -east pipeline, the concept has merit and is justifiable solely on ensuring Canada has control of all pipelines carrying Canadian oil on Canadian soil. the Irving oil refinery processes up to 300 million barrels a day, which seems like a lot until the source of the oil and the final customers are identified. Atlantic Canada uses 20 % of the oil, the remainder (80%) is sold to the USA as finished product. The source of the oil Is from United states ( some of that could be Canadian crude piped to Texas). The cost of transporting a barrel of oil by tanker is $1>50 to .300. compared to 5 to 7 dollars a barrel transported by oil. It is quite evident that Americans accept Irving oil refined products mainly because it is their oil to begin with, we are just refining it, the other sources of oil are UAE which are an oil ally of the USA as well, Should Canada, build a pipe line to the east coast, we would no longer be an importer from the US or UAE, or Nigeria. The assumption is that Western crude would be piped to Irving and American North east would continue to buy , now Canadian crude, refined products from Irving in the same quantity they now buy American/UAE crude based finished products. If not , the Irving refinery would lose 80 % of their market and only have 20% ( 60,000 barrels a day) being sold to Atlantic Canada. Of course an argument can be made that Irving Refinery could sell to EU providing the USA didn’t sanction our oil because we stopped importing from USA. The pipeline being talked about West-East should also be rerouted to go north of Lake Superior to avoid passing through USA territory. The messaging on building the pipe line to Irving oil Saint John NB gets lots of enthusiastic support, without seriously asking Ontario and Quebec why they wouldn’t want the pipeline to just stop in their provinces, with the goal of the development of a refinery that they would control and gain all economic benefits from. Oil Tankers can easily reach St Lawrence port terminals, for transporting finished oil products for export. Canada needs to stay focused on what we can do to market crude oil/refined oil, in the most efficient manner possible, we can market west to Asia, we can go to Churchill for markets to our east, Atlantic Canada may not be our best choice with out l new sustainable markets in the EU ?

The brief description of the living conditions for all the children , although not submitted as contributing to her death, leaves many questions about the home situation which should have been viewed as a contributing factor , much the same way as any environmental conditions are taken into consideration when conducting an inquest. Wellness checks are an inadequate remedy for a living environment that definitely should be reviewed as a probable contributing factor in the young child’s death, either by suicide, natural causes or a criminal act. What is most disturbing is the reported Police position of the death being that of suicide. Even an obvious suicide is always investigated as suspicious for the purpose of eliminating all possibility of criminal conduct being linked to a death. The inquest is complete , however that does not prevent the police from , reviewing their evidence and issuing a public finding based on evidence that in fact her death was indeed suicide? Further Social development should be ordered to conduct a review of their responsibility towards the care and living conditions that children are experiencing when being home schooled, what changes need to be made to ensure that procedures are in place to conduct home visits to assertion that children are recoining the basic standards of living and care as established in provincial law.

This is very disturbing, too many red flags throughout, and sadly, it appears no justice will will happen as a result of this poor child’s death.

It would be nice if buying crude oil close to home would become a permanent thing – clearly the turmoil and the US situation can be overwhelming to navigate through. “Buy Canadian” whenever possible…

It’s about time…energy bills are grossly high, and nobody should be put in the position of having to pay rent and food or hydro.

Political parties of both stripes have used the promise of lowered or regulated electricity costs for home owners to gain political control of government, this also got these same politicians support from industry , who als benefited from lowered energy costs, which they argued assisted them in being more competitive. This manipulated lowered price has been provided through NB POWER opporating in a deficit and increasing the NB POWER DEBT, which we the residents will have to pay for, industry will not be burdened with this debt, but we will! Supporting restructuring NB POWER and its present relationship with our legislature, must be a priority for our present and future Premiers! We the residents need to focus on what must be done and make it clear that this not a political party platform issue, letting politicians divide us will just ensure we keep status quo, this givernment and any future government need to know what we expect. A not for profit model is a great idea, as long as the Corperation is monitored by government to ensure tgey are efficient and prividing the province with the electricity we need for Industry and residential use.

Thank you. Years ago, the Conservation Council of N.B., did a report saying the cancer rate in Saint John was higher than Fredericton or Moncton. The Province of N.B., is negligent on their responsibilities.

I appreciate being made aware of the situation, and thank you for bringing it to our attention. However, shame on those in power if they don’t address this immediately, without all the nonsense studies and task forces to review it.
